Dropping the Loot and Honoring the Gods and Deities.

My family decided to take their jade chariot to to the Buddhist temple and participate in festivities to delight the spirit. I figured that it was in Sol’s neighborhood, so why not join them in their journey and bring my prize and Suzaku with me.

At the temple, I was at least able to make peace with the gods and deities who have gotten me thus far. I would run into Sol and we’d hang together while partaking in lunch and prayer. To eat Vietnamese Buddhist cuisine was something I had not had in the last few years… It made me realize how far I have come with regards to humility. If anything I have been far too merciful on myself and have not given myself enough credit. After reciting my prayers to the statues representative of their gods… I would make my way to Sol’s home to deliver him the Jawbone.

On dropping by Sol’s house… When I would pull the loot from my bag to pass it to him, the following image was his reaction…

OMGZ~! I SEE WUT U HAZ THAR!!!!
Sol going "OMGZ!!!"

I close out by saying that a day of repentance and prayer with a dose of ZeroXR fun is always a good time!

“Zero?! Why aren’t you as studious with your updates?!” – Anonymous

Lately, I have had some of my fans a little upset that I haven’t been hammering away articles like a relentless machine… A lot of things have happened that I have had to “realign” myself and even balance out my mind. A good deal of people have been rather supportive of me which has helped expedite the process of rebalancing and realigning. My thanks this week goes to Sol, Rei, my Twitter fans, Yamcha, and my newest outspoken fan, Pistol. They all have kept me laughing, smiling, and most of all… having a great time!

Monday, everyone heard about me taking my aseptic training final. I was so sorely reminded of almost 3 years ago when I took the PTCB test… I took the 20 question test and finished it within 15 minutes. It scared me like my PTCB event… I walked alone but instead of waiting for the anticipation of my scores turning out in 3-4 weeks, I was able to get instant gratification knowing I passed. The night ended it a few rounds of celebration with Yamazaki.

Tuesday, I actually decided to go to extremes with my phone. I had grown rather fond of the _Alex_ ROM based in Windows Mobile 6.0 on my phone, but I couldn’t deal with the fact that sometimes the system was just awful slow at times. I wanted to have my phone as streamlined as possible but also have the cool “tricked out” features like the HTC Home screen, TouchFLO, and the HTC Cube. So I decided to do the most insane phone hacker thing in the history of my ownership of phones… I was going to build my phone completely from scratch. Naturally, I would have to get a “foundation” to build from… Thanks to the folks at XDA Developer’s Wiki on the Kaiser/Tilt, they had a link to the newest OEM ROM build for the HTC TyTN II using Windows Mobile 6.1. I would take that ROM and begin streaming the build into my phone… However, I had a snag that almost turned my phone into a paperweight… The ROM flasher utility had a hick-up and there was a warning that I needed to obey specific instructions to save my phone from being dead. I abided and given the blessing of whatever electronic deities were watching me. Eventually, the upgrade would finally finish and it would be grand. Everything from the unbranded HTC TyTN II was all there, but even though there was a tinge of the HTC TouchFLO control it was not quite my vision of the phone I had. I would have to add in the hacks and tweaks to give myself the HTC Cube, increased TouchFLO sensitivity, and even “steal” some elements from the wonderful HTC Touch. After finally getting that all set-up, it was time to restore use of my TomTom Navigator 6 to finally get a phone that is completely minimal of extra “features” for a device that simply works.

Most of the week was spent toiling about homework that I had to take care of at the office. I can assure you it was very boring and time consuming. I savored being able to put aside my homework to relax at the offices of ZeroXR, believe me.

Friday, Sol and I had quite a fun lunch. We hit up BJ’s Brewhouse in Dallas for some good Chicago style deep dish pizza and ice cold, hand made, draft root beer. We decided to do things proper with getting what I called the Death Pizza! I will say, it was quite savory and even meritted a laugh! The root beer was delicious and made the heat index of 95F feel like nothing.

[Contest End!] Winner for the Haiku Competition!

So after much deliberation, many rounds of Yamazaki single malt whiskey, and bottles of Guinness Draught… I have a winner for Bluetooth haiku contest. The last two poems recieved really shook up the competition. It was like a rather lively duel. It was tough as these new poems really shook things up. However… Once the dust settled… There was one clear winner.

I would like to announce Sol Badguy as the winner of my contest! Congratulations!

Silverware that can’t do squat for ears
Spoon and fork beckon bluetooth

Rei came very close… so I may see about sending her a “runner up” door prize from the “prize closet” of ZeroXR 13mg. I will give her posterity and show case her poem. The rest… Due to the lackluster showcase of entries… I will leave them in the grave. I leave you with Rei’s haiku.

Oh Aliph Jawbone
You pwn my H350 (pronounced three fifty)
It crackles too much

Possible Teaser and Lock-In for a Password to the Vault

In my drunken sleep last night, I mused about a funny post about how I think I have given up on dating women… be it online or offline. Too many God damn flakes and people who just suck at life. I will say that online dating has proved to be humorous, but hell… I have had enough of that. Should my loyal and devout readers want to get an “uncut”, swear-word riddled journey to debauchery and madness that will probably have them laughing until they go into organ failure… I will post up my “exploits” as a password locked post for your savory enjoyment.

I know I need to decide a winner, but let’s hope for tomorrow!

I know…

I am overdue as hell for the contest. Gimme a break here… LOL! I did have an aseptic exam which I PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS!!!!! Then on top of that, I have had a bit of a bad day for Monday that threw me off guard. I know that there was Cousin Sol and one other very close person that helped me kick past the bad. I had a wee bit much of the Yamazaki, but to celebrate a small victory, I am happy to at least celebrate with something very special. Tomorrow, I may not have time to read through and pick a winner… but the last 2 entries I recieved were rather funny.

I am about to hit the hay as the Dallas summer heat is really screwing with my head. A winner is nigh… don’t fret!

Upgraded Ubuntu Hardy Heron LTS with a Remix

Due to the fact that emulating Windows is not a perfect “end-all” solution for me, I have decided to make a small Windows partition for my machine for the few times I need Windows. “When?” would you say I need the operating system of the evil empire? Phone hacking procedures and some backing up of my HTC phone are essential things that could be crucial. There are also some proprietary pharmacy education tools that require the use of Windows and sadly do not play nice in Wine (for Linux) or in a Virtual Box session.

I unfortunately remember why I hate Windows so much from lack of open standards… because my native resolution of 1200 x 800 is not there, nor was my wi-fi card.

Ubuntu, however has been a pleasant experience… I have loved every minute in it! PulseAudio has been a wonderful sound server! If I can sit down and really review it… I’ll give you my full thoughts. I am going to relax for now.

Why?

I aced part one of two on my pharmaceutical aseptic training course with flying colors!

Grateful Appreciation, Reminders, Meet-n-Greet Event!

Dear and loyal readers of ZeroXR 13mg, I am thankful for your very touching feedback lately with regards to stuff like the contest or just letting me know what all is good and what needs improvement. I am also thankful that in my time of need, you all have been supportive of me to help me stand tall once again. To you, loyal readers, fans, and associates… I say thank you!

I would like to remind readers that my Bluetooth haiku contest has been extended, if you have not taken notice, I advise you to take a gander at this link for the details: ZeroXR 13mg Bluetooth Haiku Contest The main point is to have fun and be snarky or creative… I am hoping to give some of you potential contestants some time to construct your haikus due to some people saying the 1 week time frame was “unfair”.

As far as tonight’s frivolities at Times Ten Cellars, I’d like to extend that event to EVERYONE who wishes to join. Let’s just call it a ZeroXR 13mg Meet-n-Greet event, you can meet up with me and possibly get some Ubuntu related door prizes if I can scrounge around for them… Be you enemy, comrade, or a peer of mine… I shall welcome you with my sincerity and maybe even offer you a glass of delicious wine if you can put aside your differences. What good is it to hold grudges or be xenophobic when life can be tragically short, bitter and dull? If you wish to come, please feel free to drop me a comment or even give me a phone call if you have my contact information.

Let us laugh, drink, and be merry to forget and forgive things depressing events of yore to temper and forge new and much happier memories. For when the day passes, what good is it do enter a somber sleep while harboring thoughts and musings with considerable pain and anguish? Let us seize the day while things are still ripe. Let us imbibe the essence of fragrant berries and feel alive once more. Let us just be humans who are living like today is the end of the world.

Week’s Agenda

This week will be a fairly busy one…

Fitness – I will be ramping up my workout as the sorrow that had burdened me finally has been lifted. I need to bulk up more adipose tissue on my weaker bits and push to excel. Expect some super intense changes.

Technology Reviews – I will be picking up my BlueAnt Z9 and hopefully arrange for a model, photographer, and possibly dinner compensation to do my shoot-out review of the Jawbone vs the Z9. After the review goes live… The contest for the “losing” headset goes live!

Game Reviews – I need to fucking finish Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core so I can post my thoughts on it. Patapon, I am struggling with the rain dance beat.

Personal – I need to write an IDP for myself and post it here to “review” my performance as a human being. I should also try to clean up my office as well, cause I am piled up in mail.

This week will dawn a new era for Zero at the offices of ZeroXR 13mg… I just gotta find a way to survive weekend shift cubicle warfare at the office from 10:30am – 6pm to hopefully arrive at Bonny’s home and help her with her project. All I can do is carpe diem and power through!
