Grateful Appreciation, Reminders, Meet-n-Greet Event!

Dear and loyal readers of ZeroXR 13mg, I am thankful for your very touching feedback lately with regards to stuff like the contest or just letting me know what all is good and what needs improvement. I am also thankful that in my time of need, you all have been supportive of me to help me stand tall once again. To you, loyal readers, fans, and associates… I say thank you!

I would like to remind readers that my Bluetooth haiku contest has been extended, if you have not taken notice, I advise you to take a gander at this link for the details: ZeroXR 13mg Bluetooth Haiku Contest The main point is to have fun and be snarky or creative… I am hoping to give some of you potential contestants some time to construct your haikus due to some people saying the 1 week time frame was “unfair”.

As far as tonight’s frivolities at Times Ten Cellars, I’d like to extend that event to EVERYONE who wishes to join. Let’s just call it a ZeroXR 13mg Meet-n-Greet event, you can meet up with me and possibly get some Ubuntu related door prizes if I can scrounge around for them… Be you enemy, comrade, or a peer of mine… I shall welcome you with my sincerity and maybe even offer you a glass of delicious wine if you can put aside your differences. What good is it to hold grudges or be xenophobic when life can be tragically short, bitter and dull? If you wish to come, please feel free to drop me a comment or even give me a phone call if you have my contact information.

Let us laugh, drink, and be merry to forget and forgive things depressing events of yore to temper and forge new and much happier memories. For when the day passes, what good is it do enter a somber sleep while harboring thoughts and musings with considerable pain and anguish? Let us seize the day while things are still ripe. Let us imbibe the essence of fragrant berries and feel alive once more. Let us just be humans who are living like today is the end of the world.

[EVENT] Social Gathering at Times Ten Cellars in Dallas!

I have been meaning to kick back and really relax. So… I wanted to announce that I’ll be hanging out at Times Ten Cellars this Friday to relax and finally unwind! Everyone is invited to come and hang out with me to partake in some wine or other handmade snacks. Feel free to bring friends, I am always looking to make more new friends. I will be buying 2 rounds of wine, so if some of you are a little too greedy, you’ll need to chip in your fair share… be it buying snacks or more wine. For those who are not much into drinking wine… I encourage you to come down to partake in delicious cakes, truffles, and other delicacies. They do have sparkling water and soda, should you want to “drink” with me but not get a buzz.

I know some of you are the type that cannot shy away from the computer or internet, but I do have good news. Times Ten Cellars does have high speed wi-fi internet. Bring your laptop or wireless devices to hang out and relax with me! Times Ten Cellars has a very relaxed dress code, so come as you are… I came in there two weeks ago in a polo shirt, basketball pants and sandals, but the staff treated me like a well dressed enthusiast! If you’re a little “new” to wine, let me know and I may just buy you a flight of wines to try, savor, and taste if you play your cards right with me! Expect me in “casual slack” mode or “hardcore formal” mode. If you want “details” on my event, click on the picture of my “invite” below!

[CONTEST EXTENSION!!!] – A Change of Heart

I looked over my entries for the goofy Bluetooth haiku contest and I am a little sad that from 1 week… I only got 3 contestants, but one of those contestants submitting three haikus! A few of my friends noted that they wanted to play but couldn’t submit one before the deadline. Under some advice from my buddy Yamcha, I will give all players a 2 week extension!!! Yep, that’s right… All you people who were discouraged from the deadline now have a fair ground to play!

The NEW official deadline is now May 19th, 2008 by 12:00am!

Send those haiku’s in! Either drop a comment or send it to info@zeroxr.com!

Here’s the review for those who missed it: https://www.zeroxr.com/?p=192

Here’s details on the contest rules, regulations and errata: https://www.zeroxr.com/?p=178

Get those entries in and make me laugh!

Week’s Agenda

This week will be a fairly busy one…

Fitness – I will be ramping up my workout as the sorrow that had burdened me finally has been lifted. I need to bulk up more adipose tissue on my weaker bits and push to excel. Expect some super intense changes.

Technology Reviews – I will be picking up my BlueAnt Z9 and hopefully arrange for a model, photographer, and possibly dinner compensation to do my shoot-out review of the Jawbone vs the Z9. After the review goes live… The contest for the “losing” headset goes live!

Game Reviews – I need to fucking finish Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core so I can post my thoughts on it. Patapon, I am struggling with the rain dance beat.

Personal – I need to write an IDP for myself and post it here to “review” my performance as a human being. I should also try to clean up my office as well, cause I am piled up in mail.

This week will dawn a new era for Zero at the offices of ZeroXR 13mg… I just gotta find a way to survive weekend shift cubicle warfare at the office from 10:30am – 6pm to hopefully arrive at Bonny’s home and help her with her project. All I can do is carpe diem and power through!

Idea: Bluetooth Headset Shoot-Out AND A Contest!

So I am debating on shooting out 2 of the most popular noise canceling headsets on the market that are aimed at fashion and function aficionados. I have one headset, I just need to pick up the other. For this review, I do need someone who’s willing to volunteer some time to take images of the headset and it being worn. Optionally, a “model” for the headset would be best as I don’t think it’d be attractive to be taking snaps of me. If you would like to volunteer your efforts, let me know, I will compensate you for your time, be you a photographer or a “model”.

If you’re in the Dallas, Texas area and do not mind volunteering your efforts for possibly food and drink for either being a model or a photographer for my review… Drop me a line here at info@zeroxr.com and let me know!

There’s more to this all though…

I will keep one of the headsets from the shoot-out and as for the other one… I will be GIVING IT AWAY! Yes, that’s right..! I will be giving one of these high end Bluetooth headsets after the review. The offer is for both people local to Dallas and outside of Dallas. However if you are not local to Dallas, we’ll have to talk about shipping arrangements. I have not decided what the contest will be about, but I will work on drafting up the details tonight and hopefully have it posted up by the time the review goes live. If you’d like to help me with rules and errata, drop me a line on my messengers, IRC, or at my info@zeroxr.com mailbox.

What’s to Come and Fun Times with GPS

I have been spending some of my downtime lately with my coffee break game of choice: Final Fantasy VII – Crisis Core and sadly… I am already close to beating it, but here’s the caveat. I got to the end game part within 13 hours with Zack at L30. The combat phases are getting hard, but it has forced me to take up some of the “Missions” from the internal menu to seek leveling up. My equipment has been sparse but then again, I have been relying on in-game story drops rather than the premium mission drops. When I finish Crisis Core (probably soon) expect me to write it up. All I can say about Crisis Core is… If you haven’t played Final Fantasy VII on Playstation or PC AND watched Advent Children, Crisis Core may not have as big an impact on you. It brings one of the greatest Final Fantasy stories to a complete close. Luckily, Dirge of Cerberus for PS2 is not required “material” to play to understand Crisis Core.

Yesterday, I finally got to try out my GPS on the road but without a car mount, it was more being navigated by audio. When I got a chance to glance at my GPS, it was rather accurate. My speed was exact to my speedometer and all the road information was rather detailed. I don’t know why I didn’t get on the GPS deal sooner, ’cause it’s rather useful in pinch situations. Just I have one new problem to solve… Getting a car windshield mount, external GPS antenna, and car charger to enhance my use and benefit of GPS. Guess I’ll be saving my pennies for all that after my 8GB microSD card. 😉

Death Phone Acquired – Write-up will commence soon!

I bid farewell to my P990i for an AT&T Tilt and it is well worth it! It was however a suicidal mistake to be up since 4am doing all the hacks and tweaks to get it all running.

I have been coping with some personal problems, so I know I haven’t been documenting my workout’s as of late, but most of them have been gut-buster sets on intermittent days. I’ll probably do a super set tonight before my super write-up.

Update on spoiler function

I do have my RSS feed streaming into Facebook as a means of propping my site for more viewers… so apparently it does show a “preview” in the mini-newsfeed. I am also assuming that on reading my post via my mini-feed that it will reveal everything. I highly endorse those who wish to read my game reviews to read them via ZeroXR.com to avoid reading about my thoughts on plot, puzzles, etc.

Bad_httpd Error & Wally World for “Coffee Break” Materials

Had an error from a messed up DNS file basically kick my site offline. I ended up fixing it and then heading out to Wal-Mart while Dreamhost said to give my site some time to regenerate the DNS entry. Ended up picking up some materials for my lunch kits and wandered off to the games for fun. I ended up picking up Patapon and Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core for cheap. I ended up playing the games on and off while doing sit-ups and waiting for the site to regenerate on getting home… They are rather addictive that you almost forget to take a break. Patapon is more due to a simple concept while Crisis Core being a wicked cool chain of action that’s almost non-stop.

I’ll probably post up my reviews on both when I get a chance to really delve into them.

For now… I just want to be thankful that my site is back online without much hassle like from the WordPress upgrade.
