Break – Muscular Healing, Part II

On talking to a few friends who have weight trained, they have asked that I take it easy on myself before I seriously hurt something. I had told them that I am pretty sore all over and zapped of energy. From their observations, they have felt that I have not given my body adequate time to rebuild the torn muscle fibers and for them to re-adjust for the healing process. Today will be another day spent relaxing and just plain taking it easy on my body to promote good healing and positive muscle growth.

My friends have also voiced their opinions that I should alternate training days as my body is still trying to cope with me getting back in shape. I may just do that for this week to further promote the healing process. Thanks to those who have been supportive of my progress, it really means a lot to me!

Break – Muscular Healing

Today, I am going to take it easy and enjoy the day… My legs are throughly worn out from all the cardio and my upper torso is sore from the building I have done there. Tomorrow, I plan to resume in full force and get back into things again. Plan to attack harder than yesterday, because I am starting to see the seeds of progress. Initially this week, I weighed in at 155 lbs. As of yesterday before workout, I was weighing in at 152 lbs! For 5 days of adding hard cardio, that is really astonishing! I can’t wait for the new week to begin.  I just hope that with working weekends… It won’t screw with my routine.

I am proud of my great progress and hope to get even further.  Until June… talk about killer suspense to see ultimate progress.

Workout Log 12/13/2007

Workout notes: I woke to sore muscles all over and with exams having me running with “insomnia mode”, my body was not healing properly. So I ended up waking at 9:00 rather than the 6:45 I was hoping for. I feel much better though. The workout is short, but I do not intend to skimp on any cardio, because I do need it. I know my “redline” for my heart rate… At the moment I top out at 182 beats per minute and I can keep this state of redline for almost 40 minutes straight. Hopefully, I can get some sleep tonight and seriously get a great work-out tomorrow.

Why the Fitness Log?

I know I had Merinda ask me last night: “Why don’t you post your workout logs seperately?”

That would lead me to my reasoning… I am big on having morale keep my spirits up. I also like being accountable for my actions. By having the public aware that I am working out to say “keep it up!” or even suggest things to alter my routine to refresh things, it could serve beneficial to me. Plus with the public viewing my progress, I have to keep myself accountable for my readers.

Tomorrow, I may just weigh myself in to see how I stand now on the FitLinxx system that my city’s community gym has. That way I can post stats and even have a “starting point”. Now, if eventually the FitLinxx system can print “progress reports”that would be slick. The new gym is plenty cheap too, $65 for an entire year with pool privileges. Plenty of space to really work out, clean environment, some of the machines have “computers” that can track your progress and make sure your form is correct too! With enough space for me to expand focus into cardio while doing muscle training, hopefully my current progress can only get better… My own home limited me from doing cardio which was my limitation. I hope to reflect back to this in June and see how far I have come along.
